Joe Doucet’s Beautifully Designed Minimal Deck Of Cards

Designer Joe Doucet has created a very clean, minimal, limited edition deck of cards called Iota that will be available at the Wanted Design NYC pop-up store May 17-20. He will present the deck as a part of Play, his themed exhibition during Wanted Design, along with seven other products.

Doucet says that it took him almost 15 rounds of refinement. “Stripping things down to the edge of comprehension is a very difficult task. Not enough is far from interesting and too much leaves you with an utter failure,” he says.

We’re glad he did. The end result is a gorgeous display of where functional product meets artisitic design. We almost don’t even want to use them. Almost.

Chris Cobb, an artist based in San Francisco, has created an amazing installation in bookshop called Adobe Books- he catalogued every single one of the 20,000 books by color. The project is titled There is Nothing Wrong in This Whole Wide World. They were arranged by hand over a 10 hour period, and he enlisted the help of 16 volunteers. Such beautiful results, they transformed the bookshop overnight.
